Sump Pump Systems

Sump pumps remove accumulated water from around and under the foundation and discharge it away from the foundation. Pro Foundation Technology uses sump pumps made by Earth Contact Products (ECP), the leading manufacturer of waterproofing products in the industry. These sump pumps are the most energy-efficient, highest performing and longest lasting sump pumps on the market. Our sump pumps include a primary sump from 1/3 to 1/2 horsepower that can pump up to 5,000 gallons per hour. Our battery backup sump pumps are the most energy-efficient lineup of 12-volt backup sump pumps on the market.

The source of basement flooding is most often due to water build up in the soil that makes its way into your basement or crawlspace. A pump is a final defense against basement flooding because it pumps the water out from the lowest section of the basement before the water level reaches the basement floor. As the groundwater level rises, it is diverted into the sump pit by a drainage pipe. Once the water reaches a preset level in the basin the pump diverts the collected water outside and away from the foundation.

Sump Pits and Basins

sump pumps Kansas CityThe sump pit is also called a basin or crock. A sump pit is a hole designed to collect water and the sump pit is outfitted with a sump pump that removes the liquid from the pit to ensure that it does not overflow. Our sump pumps are made of seamless high strength polyethylene. This heavy-duty design assures many years of service without deterioration.

The ECP sump pit has a unique bell shape which makes the sump pump system more efficient and keeps more than twice the amount of water surrounding the sump pump inlet, preventing short cycling of the sump pump. Sump pits not only collect water, but the sump pit also collects soil gases, including radon. These gases rise through the soil and must be evacuated to prevent unhealthy buildup. The ECP sump pit is perforated and features a sealed lid to prevent these soil gases from being distributed throughout living spaces. The gases are evacuated along with the collected water.
