Interior Waterproofing

Basement waterproofing is needed anytime a structure is built at ground level or below ground. Waterproofing and drainage are especially needed in cases where the groundwater is likely to build up in the soil and raise the water table. When the water table is higher it causes hydrostatic pressure to be exerted underneath the basement floor and against the basement walls. This pressure forces water in through cracks in the foundation walls, and through openings caused by the expansion and contraction of the wall joints and up through floor cracks. This hydrostatic pressure can cause major structural damage to foundation walls and can contribute to mold and decay.

Our interior waterproofing system includes an ECP sump basin, 4” perforated drain pipe, water channel, and combination primary/backup sump pumps. We will inspect your basement waterproofing needs and recommend and install the basement waterproofing solution that is best for you.

The most effective of the interior drainage systems is a perforated drain pipe installed inside the perimeter of the footing. By installing this drain pipe beneath the slab, it drains the area to a lower level. This drainage pipe connects to a sump pump system. The sump basin and sump pumps are made by Earth Contact Products (ECP), the leading manufacturer of waterproofing products made in the industry.

The ECP sump pump basin (sump pump pit) is molded from high strength, impact-resistant polyethylene to provide years of service in collecting the water from around foundations because it will not crush or deteriorate. The bell shape of the ECP sump makes the sump pump more efficient and increases the life of the basement drainage system. The sump pit has holes in each side for the incoming drain tile and all have a sturdy sealed lid. When the groundwater fills the pit to a certain level, a switching device activates a pump. The water is dispelled outside and the pit starts collecting water again.

The ECP sump pump that is used by Pro Foundation Technology helps remove the water that has accumulated around and under the foundation and discharges it away from the foundation. These sump pumps are the most energy-efficient, highest performing and longest lasting sump pumps on the market today. When combined with the ECP bell-shaped sump basin, you will be assured that the system will last for many years.
