Exterior Waterproofing
Exterior waterproofing stops water from collecting around your foundation where it causes problems. Moisture is transferred from the outside the foundation to the basement interior by four primary mechanisms. First, water flow where water takes the path of least resistance, if this is into your basement, then that's where water will flow. The second mechanism is capillary action. Concrete is a hard yet porous material. Capillary action acts like a wick. As concrete sits in water, the water is absorbed by the concrete until it becomes saturated and then disperses moisture and water vapor inside the home. Find out more here. |
Interior Waterproofing
The most effective and popular interior drainage system is a perforated drain pipe installed inside the perimeter of the footing. This system is also building code approved when properly installed. Installation requires removing and replacing concrete around the slab edge. By placing the drain pipe beneath the slab, the area drains to the lower level which connects to a sump pump system. Crawl Space Encapsulation
Crawl space vapor barriers reduce energy costs and protect against moisture, mold, radon and unwanted pests. Crawl space encapsulation systems also provide a clean storage environment in your crawl space. Find out more here. |
Crack Injection Wall Repair
Epoxy crack injection creates a bond that is actually stronger than the basement walls themselves and epoxy fills even the smallest wall cracks. Low viscosity epoxies penetrate all the way through basement wall ruptures ensuring a complete repair. Polyurethane crack repair has an advantage over epoxy repairs in that it remains flexible. If you experience slight foundation movements, polyurethanes will flex and still keep the crack sealed. Find out more here. |
